What is your Three Fold Type? Feeling: Willing:

Rudolf Steiner – Anthroposophy
Rudolf Steiner Lecture – The Study of Man” (1919)

This may be the first time that the Three Fold Type has come in to your awareness.  It relates to a concept of the threefold nature of human beings.  This was described by Rudolf Steiner, one of the founders of Weleda, in one of his lectures on “The Study of Man” over a hundred years ago, which acknowledges the Spirit, Soul, and Body of man that is connected to all that is.  This short post will look at the three fold nature of the body and how this knowledge helps us to better understand ourselves more so that we can acknowledge how we relate to the world around us and what our strengths are and recognise the symptoms of imbalance.  This also relates to the health of our skin which will reflect imbalances in our body and mind as a whole.  Generally, a person will gravitate to displaying the characteristics of a specific type.  As a wellbeing advisor, I am able to guide you if needed during treatments but this short article along with the information below may be all that you need to become aware of your specific threefold type.  Once you have identified your type – send an email to me stating your type and I will send you a list of lifestyle choices that aim to guide you back to balance.

To begin with, looking at the header image of the body separated in to three areas:

  • Blue: head – nerve sense system which is the THINKING sense.  Our senses, such as, sight, scent, taste and auditory reside in this area.  This is where our brain also resides and all of these senses are connected to the nerves.  .
  • Green: body – rythmic system which is the FEELING sense.  The location of our organs.
  • Pink: limbs – metabolic limb system which is the WILLING sense. Our will creates movement and when we move we generate warmth and metabolic processes.

Some indicators of what imbalances occur to each of these types and what to strive for to bring back to balance……

  • Head – headaches, anxiety, loss of appetite, nervous, lack of sleep.  Restore balance by introducing calming activities.
  • Body – lack of boundaries, emotional highs and lows, irritable, unhappy, burn out. Restore balance by introducing structure and boundaries.
  • Limbs – lethargic, weight gain, over eating.  Restore balance by encouraging stimulation and boosting energy.
