Welcome to my website which aims to simply convey a selection of body treatments being offered, a scattering of posts on topics related to my services plus a link to my Weleda Web Shop. Plus below is a brief outline of my background which in some way begins to explain how I came to offering these services.
Along the way, needless to say, many experiences and knowledge has been gained. Although I more than happy to share, I am also mindful of not creating a huge monologue to trawl through. Hence,
I’ve summarised my background using two markers – before motherhood and post motherhood! Although my role isn’t fully relinquished as my daughters are now young adults who are meandering along their own paths, my involvement has naturally lessened.
Thinking about my pre-motherhood stage, it was definitely focussed on material gain with many hours hard at work to achieve these goals. I worked in Corporate roles during the week with my spare time spent in property development. This went on for quite some time until my first daughter arrived when I was 38yrs. My whole life at this point inverted as I completely left the corporate/property world behind and turned my attention to motherhood.
It wasn’t until I was pregnant with my second daughter that I turned my attention to Hypnobirthing Mongan Method and the success of this method during my own birth resulted in my teaching around 50 couples this highly effective method. Thereon, it felt like a natural progression to qualify as a Clinical Hypnotherapist which was an added enhancement to my service. I also qualified in HypnoFertility which very often turned in to a Counselling service with couples sometimes coming to the sessions out of alignment or agreement with each other. Ten years on in this sector, a tough decision had to be made to leave it behind due to household financial pressures which lead me back in to the world of property – this time the Private Rental Sector.
Thinking that I had left my people skills behind was further from the truth. I found that my previous skills of working closely with people definitely benefitted my role as a landlord which involved dealing with challenging tenants for seven years.
At the same time as being a landlord, my attention remained focussed on caring for my daughters, household and myself. I have always been an avid reader and enjoyed learning from Rudolph Steiner which lead me to home schooling with a strong focus on the creative arts, natural approaches to living and being in harmony with ourselves, others and the environment. Many hours were spent foraging for fruits, nuts and herbs to support our wellbeing with an array of jars dotted around the house filled with tinctures, tea leaves, preserves and dried snacks. It was following a Weleda Plant Study Day that I learned more about Weleda and its link with Rudolph Steiner’s anthroposophic approach. Anthroposophy is based on a spiritual world view with European roots. Steiner named and formulated anthroposophy which simply translated means ‘the wisdom of man’. Steiner used the term to refer to the investigation of the spiritual realm through scientific and spiritual experience, and it was this to which he devoted his work. I was impressed with how Weleda have embraced Steiner’s values throughout the company from adopting bio-dynamic farming for the plants used in their products, their fair treatment of staff and stakeholders along with sustainable manufacturing processes. That certainly ticked a lot of boxes for me! I also found it serendipitous that the Study Day was attended by Elizabeth King (Weleda Skin Care Expert) who had just launched the Weleda Esthetician (skin specialist) course. Needless to say, as you are aware from my services, I booked on to the course and have maintained my Esthetician Certification ever since. It has definitely been the right decision as my expertise as a skin specialist not only benefits my clients but also myself. A win win scenario!

I often receive compliments and remarks on my skin being hydrated, clear and soft which I not only put down to using Weleda body care and medicinal products exclusively but also by some of my other practices listed below:
- Keeping to a simple diet appropriate for my Metabolic type
- Daily exercise in the form of walking my dog, yoga, weights and gym classes
- Practising and learning more about the benefits of Dowsing for health and wellbeing
- Studying German New Medicine – this is a whole new health paradigm which is based on natural science, observing that every physical symptom is matched with a law that outlines the basis for the dis-ease. The premise is that all physical symptoms can be traced back to a conflict. The symptom is either indicating that a healing has taken or is taking place.
- Last but not least – aims to keep all aspects of my life simple
These practices help to maintain my mental, physical and spiritual balance – balance, being the key word, which is my main focus.
By following the above practices, I feel more balanced, healthy and calm. My imbalances are much more gentle these days and once I become aware of unhelpful habits creeping back in, I can gently nudge myself back on track.
